The Natural Park of Portofino is located in the area of Tigullio, 30 kms far from Genoa, and oversteps the municipalities of Camogli, Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure. It was founded in 1935 from an idea to build just a simple street which linked Camogli to Santa Margherita Ligure, passing through the mount of Portofino. This little part of Ligurian land was protected together with the Marine Protected Area of Portofino

It hosts one of the main areas rich of flowers in the Mediterranean Sea, with a typically Mediterranean vegetation made up of chestnut groves, olive groves, hazel groves, pine forests live oak groves and strawberry trees.

In addition, it boasts of a huge variety of birds and invertebrates, and also important architectural buildings, and the most famous breathtaking landscapes in the world.

The sea bottoms preserve a wide range of marine community of the high Tyrrhenian Sea.
