Welcome to About Liguria
Dear Visitors, welcome to aboutliguria.com!
This is a non-profit website offering many useful information about the region of Liguria, its towns, its monuments, its stunning landscapes made up of sea and mountains. Our purpose is to give you historical, cultural and practical information, in order to give you a little more knowledge about this wonderful strip of land.
On About Liguria we have selected the most important and interesting information about the several towns and villages which are placed along the coast, on the hills and on the mountains of this wonderful and variegated region; so, we have collected the main historical, artistic and natural features about the municipalities of Lerici, Porto Venere, Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Sanremo, Cinque Terre, Sarzana, Recco, Camogli and Ventimiglia, obviously not forgetting about the regional provinces: Genoa, Savona, La Spezia and Imperia.
We have created a special section entirely dedicated to the charming “five lands”, that is to say, Cinque Terre, with the characteristic and peculiar villages diving into the sea, a panorama unique in the world: Monterosso, Corniglia, Vernazza, Manarola, Riomaggiore.
Then we have explored the great natural beauties enriching all the area, both the coastline and the zone of the hills with the natural parks, the marine protected areas, the beaches, the islands, not forgetting the important Ligurian cultural heritage, constituted by the variety of ancient churches and monuments situated in the different cities.
We also added some helpful links like emergency addresses, transportation, internet points, wash and dry and much more, to make your permanence in this peaceful resort the most comfortable as possible. Again, if you want to enjoy your night here, we have added a page entirely dedicated to nightlife of the many nightclubs, pubs and discos displaced along the coastline.
Special attention was dedicated to the Genoa Aquarium, in fact an entire section is available for all the information needed for booking and visiting the original and modern structure situated near the harbor of Genoa, which hosts a wide range of rare flora and fauna marine species. For Adults and Children!
In addition, if you would like to study Italian language and culture in Italy, we have selected some information about study abroad in Liguria with useful information and tips about the most important regional schools and the University of Genoa.
Together with the other travel guides about Florence, Siena, Milan, Rome, Turin, Mugello, Venice and Versilia, our goal is to let you know a little bit more about Italy as our web services are always up-to-date.
