Aveto Natural Park is 3018 hectares large, and it is mainly made up of mountains.
It is located in Tigullio’s hinterland, in the province of Genoa, and it preserves one of the most stunning areas in Ligurian Apennines.
The area of the park includes three different valleys: the Aveto Valley, the Graveglia Valley and the Sturla Valley, where you can find several different features, such as landscapes typical of high mountains, wide and uncontaminated pasture lands, chestnut groves, hazel woods and olive groves, terraces, and also a vast range of rocks and nuggets. It is thanks to such an extraordinary variety of environments which the park preserves a vast and rich plant life.
As far as the fauna is concerned, the wolf is with no doubt the animal which is mainly present in this area, because its species through the years has come back to populate the whole Ligurian Apennines.
